Plans

Standard

  • Budget-friendly plan to meet a variety of travelers’ needs.
  • Pet Return Service included if you are traveling with a pet and have a medical emergency.
  • World-wide 24-hour emergency and concierge services

If you are looking for a cost effective way to help protect your travel investment, the Generali Global Assistance Standard plan may be your solution. Like most diversified plans, it offers Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip for one of the listed covered reasons in the plan.

Along with other valuable coverages (Travel Delay, Medical and Dental, Baggage and Emergency Assistance and Transportation) this plan offers a broad range of concierge services. Informational services are available and can give you reports on health advisories and social customs at your destination.

They can help with arranging delivery of specialized food, schedule golf tee times, personalized retail shopping assistance, airline reservations and locating pet services. If there is a medical emergency during your trip and you are no longer able to take care of your pet, the assistance provider can arrange for your pet to be returned home. Whether you are traveling with a pet or not, you never know what is going to happen when you travel; Generali’s 24-hour hotline is there to help.

Preferred

  • Generali’s most popular travel insurance plan.
  • All of the coverages as the Standard plan, seven of which with higher benefit limits.
  • Sporting Equipment and Accidental Death & Dismemberment – Travel Accident coverages.

If you are looking for a travel insurance plan that offers more coverage and higher benefit limits—particularly in terms of medical benefits—than a basic plan, but at a lower price point than a high-end program, the Preferred plan from Generali Global Assistance could be your best bet.

This popular plan includes all of the same coverages as the Standard plan, plus specific coverages for Sporting Equipment and Sporting Equipment Delay—ideal for skiers, golfers, snorkelers and more, as well as Accidental Death & Dismemberment – Travel Accident if you are in an accident while on your trip. The plan also boasts higher benefit limits on coverages compared to what is available with the Standard plan, such as Trip Interruption up to 150% of the total trip cost insured; $1500 of Baggage protection per plan holder; and, $150,000 of Medical and Dental per plan holder.

In addition, if you purchase the Preferred plan prior to or within 24 hours of your final trip payment, you can get coverage for financial insolvency, meaning the plan can reimburse you in case you are forced to cancel or interrupt your trip if one of your travel suppliers (airline, cruise line or tour operator) discontinues operations due to insolvency, with or without filing bankruptcy.

Last, but not least, this plan comes with a variety of services designed to help you get the most from your vacation and give you a little extra peace of mind. For example, On Demand Medical Care can instantly connect you with a network of physicians for information, advice and treatment through a service called Teladoc. And with No Out-of-Pocket Medical, Generali guarantees payment of up to $1,000 for acute treatments from a trusted provider if you get sick or injured while traveling. Please note that Teladoc services may not be available in all states and international services may be limited.

Premium

  • Generali’s highest-available benefit limits, ideal for more expensive trips.
  • Pre-existing condition exclusion does not apply, if certain requirements are met.
  • Optional Trip Cancellation for Any Reason add-on coverage (not available to residents of New York), if certain requirements are met.

If you are looking for even more protection for a luxury vacation, the Premium plan from Generali Global Assistance may be your answer. This plan offers the highest-available coverage limits of all three Generali plans, including Trip Interruption up to 175% of the total trip cost insured; $2,000 for Baggage and Sporting Equipment coverage per plan holder; and, $1 million in Emergency Assistance and Transportation coverage per plan holder.

This plan also includes:

  • Coverage for pre-existing conditions within 24 hours of final payment provided you are medically able to travel when you purchase insurance and you insure 100% of your pre-paid trip costs that may be subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions.
  • Rental Car coverage to protect against certain damages to your rental car while on your trip (not available for residents of Texas).
  • Optional Trip Cancellation for Any Reason coverage, when certain requirements are met, which can reimburse up to 75% of your insured trip cost if you have to cancel your trip 48 hours or more before your scheduled departure date for a reason not included under Trip Cancellation coverage (not available to residents of New York).

Along with the coverages offered, the Premium plan also offers a range of emergency assistance and concierge services. From providing medical referrals and travel advisories to arranging event tickets and schedule golf tee times, assistance is just a phone call away.
